Family Grown, Future Driven

We are the Liang family — Ray, Grace, our daughter Angeline, and puppy Gigi. Originally from China, we moved to New Zealand seeking a better life grounded in nature, health, and community.

After years in business and city life, we chose to build something more meaningful — a family-run orchard where we could grow sustainably, live intentionally, and contribute to the land we now call home.

In the rolling hills of Whakamarama, Bay of Plenty, we found the perfect place to plant that dream. Together, we care for every tree, harvest every fruit, and make decisions as a family.

Sunspire Ltd isn’t just our business — it’s our way of life. And we’re proud to share it with you.

ABOUT SUNSPIRE ORCHARD

Sunspire Ltd is a family-owned orchard based in Whakamarama, Bay of Plenty — one of New Zealand’s most fertile growing regions. Originally from China, our family relocated to New Zealand to pursue a lifestyle rooted in nature, sustainability, and meaningful work. We found that purpose in the land.

Today, we care for over 480 Hass avocado trees and are developing a canopy of Zespri SunGold kiwifruit. We grow with intention — powered by solar energy, irrigated with filtered bore and rainwater, and guided by a zero-waste mindset.

More than a farm, Sunspire is a long-term vision: combining hands-on horticulture with forward-looking technologies like AI and robotics to shape the future of sustainable growing.

Every fruit we harvest reflects our values — care, quality, and innovation.

We combine nature’s best with sustainable innovation — leveraging solar energy, smart irrigation, and data-driven orchard management to enhance productivity while protecting our environment.

At Sunspire, we also prioritize all-year stable supply, especially for our enterprise clients such as sushi shops and bakeries. Unlike most orchards that concentrate picking during the harvest peak, we pick to order — a strategy made possible by managing our own harvesting and focusing on customers with consistent, year-round demand. This allows us to offer reliable, forecastable delivery schedules that our business clients can count on.
